Alec MacGillis
Alec MacGillis is a reporter at ProPublica, where his focus in recent years has included gun violence, economic inequality and the post-pandemic crisis in public education. He previously worked for the New Republic, Washington Post, and Baltimore Sun, among other newspapers, and his work has appeared in the New Yorker, New York Times Magazine, and Atlantic, among other magazines. He is the author of “Fulfillment: America in the Shadow of Amazon” (2021) and “The Cynic” The Political Education of Mitch McConnell (2014). In 2010-11, he was Knight-Wallace fellow at the University of Michigan, and in 2021, he was a fellow at the American Academy in Berlin.
