Amethyst Mavis Chan is a reporter for the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community and recent graduate of Northwestern University Medill School. She earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science at the University of Missouri in May 2023. Her previous jobs include marketing team member for Tego, media innovation intern for Advance Local, health and social services reporter for the Jefferson City News Tribune, higher education and statehouse reporter for the Columbia Missourian, and general assignment reporter for Local News Now. Chan is originally from Hong Kong.
