Writing a book about the farm debt crisis in rural America.
P.J. Huffstutter is a reporter with Reuters News, where she has spent nearly a decade covering the U.S. farm economy, agricultural commodity markets and global trade. Prior to that, she was a national correspondent and the Midwest bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times, where she covered a wide swath of stories ranging from Hurricane Katrina to a narrative series about the Great Recession. During her fellowship, she will be researching the health of U.S. rural economies and building databases to track agricultural financing patterns.
